Older homeowners receive rebates

Nearly 456,000 older homeowners, renters and people with disabilities across Pennsylvania are being issued rebates totaling $214 million through the state’s Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program. Distributions began on July 1, but it’s not too late to apply. The deadline has been extended through Dec. 31. Rebates will be distributed as claims are approved throughout the year.

Applicants may obtain claim forms (PA-1000) and related information at www.revenue.pa.gov or by calling 1–888–222–9190. It costs nothing to apply. Free filing help is available at hundreds of locations across the state, including Department of Revenue district offices, Area Agencies on Aging, senior centers and state legislators’ offices.
