The Castor Gardens-based Take Back Your Neighborhood has announced that its annual Northeast Celebration will take place on Saturday, Aug. 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Max Myers Playground, 1601 Hellerman St.
The day will include children’s games and visits from the Philadelphia Zoo, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Franklin Institute, Academy of Natural Sciences and Barnes Foundation.
In other news from the May 18 meeting, the Rhawnhurst Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC) is planning its next senior lunch and learn on Thursday, June 25, at noon at Ner Zedek Synagogue, 7500 Bustleton Ave.
A speaker from the Health Care Improvement Foundation will suggest questions to ask a doctor. The box lunch includes beverage, side salad and dessert. The cost is $5. Call 215–320–0351.
