Man arrested, charged with three robberies

Edwin Jimerson

Apparently, there aren’t enough Metro PCS stores in West Oak Lane, because Edwin Jimerson ended up traveling to the Northeast and South Philly to rob several of the mobile phone shops at gunpoint earlier this month, police say.

Officers arrested Jimerson, 24, of the 7900 block of Gilbert St., on April 8 after he allegedly held up the Metro PCS at 7219 Frankford Ave. in Mayfair. Philadelphia police did not reveal details of the heist or Jimerson’s capture in an official news release.

Two days earlier at about 5:30 p.m., Jimerson allegedly carried a gun into a Metro PCS at 1414 Point Breeze Ave., handed a black plastic bag to an employee and demanded cash. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Upon his arrest two days later, authorities charged him with a third heist on April 3 at the Metro PCS, 6348 Rising Sun Ave., in Lawndale. Police have released no details of that robbery. ••
