Teenager killed in Roosevelt Boulevard hit-and-run

Police are looking for the driver involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a 17-year-old boy early Sunday morning on Roosevelt Boulevard.

The crash occurred around 1 a.m. on the 7600 block of Roosevelt Boulevard. The driver fled southbound after hitting John Gbaa, of Rhawnhurst, according to police. Authorities said Gbaa was transported to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where was pronounced dead at 3:40 a.m.

Investigators said the vehicle connected to the crash is a 2007 or 2008 Chevrolet Impala or Malibu. Officers recovered the driver’s side rear-view mirror. The car will also have damage to its left side headlight.
