Bridgett Szychulski, 31, of the 3800 block of Nedla Road, pleaded guilty on Jan. 27 to statutory sexual assault and aggravated indecent assault with a person under 16. Both charges are second-degree felonies. In exchange for her plea, prosecutors agreed not to pursue a charge of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person under 16, which is a first-degree felony, as well as misdemeanor indecent assault.

According to the Associated Press, prosecutors indicated that Szychulski could be sentenced to two to three years in prison. Bucks County Common Pleas Court Judge Wallace H. Bateman Jr. deferred sentencing pending a Megan’s Law evaluation of the defendant.

Szychulski was arrested last September, after she had moved into a teaching job at Central Bucks South High School, after a boy told authorities that he was 14 when he and the woman had sex three times when he was enrolled at Lenape in 2012.

The Central Bucks School District suspended Szychulski once the allegations came to light. She remains free on $500,000 unsecured bail. ••
