‘Wild Bill’ fundraiser is Feb. 6

City Councilman David Oh visited the recent meeting of the Lawncrest Community Association, promoting a beef-and-beer fundraiser for the “Wild Bill” Guarnere Memorial Statue. The fundraiser will take place on Friday, Feb. 6, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Cannstatter’s, 9130 Academy Road.

Bill Guarere, who died last March, was a World War II hero from South Philadelphia. The event is being organized by Oh and the Guarnere family. Tickets cost $50 and include food, beer, soda, coffee, live music, raffles and auctions. The keynote address will be given by retired U.S. Army Col. Tim Williams.
