Emma Licsauer, an eighth-grade student at St. Christopher School in Somerton, has been named one of 35 Neumann Scholars in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s 123 elementary schools and will receive free tuition to the Archdiocesan high school of her choice. Anne Hileman, senior program officer and scholarship programs coordinator at the Connelly Foundation, visited St. Christopher School on Dec. 8 to announce the award.

Licsauer was among 1,300 students who applied for the award and 897 who qualified to sit for the scholarship test. She became the 17th St. Christopher student to earn the Connelly Neumann Scholarship since the program was introduced in 1996.

“I’m so happy to be awarded this scholarship, which will help our family financially with my high school education. I’m currently in the process of deciding between Archbishop Wood and St. Hubert Catholic High School,” Licsauer said. ••
