American Legion collecting items for victims of Hurricane Florence

They are collecting non-perishable food and new toys at five local dropoff points.

The American Legion is collecting non-perishable food and new toys to help support active duty soldiers, veterans and their families recover from the flood damage caused by Hurricane Florence.

Bruce Conklin, commander of the William D. Oxley Post in Holmesburg, said, “We’re just trying to help people whose lives have been turned upside down. If we can relieve the burden on families as Christmas approaches and help to create some sense of normalcy, then we will have accomplished our mission.”
