Armed men rob Red Robin Diner

Two armed robbers held up a busy late-night eatery in Mayfair early last Friday. The heist occurred at about 1:45 a.m. at the Red Robin Diner, 6330 Frankford Ave., when two unknown men entered the business, including one with a gun and a bandana over his face. The gunman approached an employee and demanded money, while the other crook served mostly as a lookout, police said.

The employee took about $250 from the cash register and gave it to the gunman. Both robbers fled westbound on Levick Street from Frankford Avenue. Although there were patrons in the restaurant at the time, no injuries were reported.
