Northeast Chamber of Commerce to host business card exchange

The Greater Northeast Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce will hold a business card exchange on Thursday, July 31, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Men’s and Boys’ Store, located at 10 Fetters Mill Square (near Red Lion Road and Huntingdon Pike).

The event is being co-sponsored by Huntingdon Valley Bank and Village Restaurant and Catering.

Meanwhile, the business support group signed 19 new members in May and June, according to president Al Taubenberger.

“I have been here 22 years, and I can’t recall a more productive two-month period in terms of new members,” he said. “A lot of this momentum can be directly attributed to our annual Business Expo in May, where folks got the opportunity to see what we’re all about.”

Under board chairman Kent C. Lufkin, president and CEO of 3rd Fed Bank, growing and retaining membership has been a priority. He added longtime Northeast Realtor Charles E. Boland and Theresa Guldin, of Tompkins VIST Bank in Fox Chase, to the membership committee.

The committee produced new materials and instituted incentives, including a 90-day risk-free trial membership. Businesses with up to 10 employees can join the GNPCC for $275 per year.
