Police seek bank robber

Police are trying to identify a man who robbed the M&T Branch at 6500 Castor Ave. last week.

The FBI/Philadelphia Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the man responsible for last week’s robbery of the M&T Bank branch at 6500 Castor Ave.

At about 2:15 p.m. on Oct. 25, the man entered the bank, approached the counter and handed a demand note to a teller. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the man fled the bank. He was last seen on Hellerman Street.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 30s, about 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, with a medium build and a dark beard. He was wearing a black Nike hooded sweatshirt, black pants and shoes, and a black and teal baseball cap.

The man is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this robbery or this suspect is urged to call the FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force at 215–418–4000.

A reward is being offered for information leading to his capture. Tipsters can remain anonymous. ••
