Seven elected officials announced their support for Pat Dugan, who is challenging District Attorney Larry Krasner in the May 20 Democratic primary.
Dugan said in a statement, “I am humbled by these leaders who are ready to stand with me and my campaign for a safer Philadelphia. Endorsing against an incumbent in your own party is a brave act, but right now it is more important than ever to be brave, as our city faces many threats, from the opioid epidemic to violent crime. If elected, it will be my honor to work alongside these incredible public servants to make our communities safe again.”
Elected officials endorsing Dugan are Councilman Mike Driscoll, state Sen. Tina Tartaglione and state Reps. Amen Brown, Sean Dougherty, Pat Gallagher, Ed Neilson and Jared Solomon.
Dugan also picked up two more labor endorsements, Communication Workers of America 2-13 and Local 13000 and International Longshoreman’s Association Local 1291.
Meanwhile, Dugan met with ward leaders supporting him on Thursday night at Sprinkler Fitters Local 692 hall. All local wards are supporting him, except the 35th, which is neutral. ••
