• Ian Hendrix was named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll while studying Healthcare Science as a member of the Alvernia University men’s basketball team. Hendrix, a graduate of Holy Ghost Prep, is one of 233 winter and spring student athletes who were named to the MAC Academic Honor Roll.
• Five local students made the dean’s list at Muhlenberg College. Students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or better to make the list.
Local members of the list are Thomas Cerruti, a St. Joseph’s Prep graduate; Devon Cheeseman (Nazareth Academy, Sustainability Studies major); David Comitale (Penn Charter, political science); Jade Gambino (St. Hubert, studio art); Gabriella Vera Bartch (Pennsylvania Leadership Charter School, political science).
• Commonwealth University honored 637 student-athletes as 2024-25 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athletes. Among the students named scholar-athletes are Matthew Bowes, a football player at Bloomsburg, and Constantin Buga, a swimmer at Bloomsburg. Student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 upon completion of the academic year to be eligible for the PSAC Scholar-Athlete Award.
• Olivia Kearns was among the 32 University of Scranton students who studied abroad during the spring 2025 semester. Kearns, majoring in psychology, studied at Sacred Heart University in Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland.
• More than 1,200 York College students were recognized for their academic achievement by earning a place on the dean’s list for the spring 2025 semester. The following local students made the dean’s list: Devon Levin and Hanna Maruta, both majoring in forensic chemistry. To be eligible for the honor, a student must be registered for at least 12 academic credit hours and earn a semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.
• University of Tampa honored 2,340 students who were named to the dean’s list for the spring 2025 semester. Students must maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher to be eligible for the dean’s list. Local members of the list are Ava Baptista, a sophomore psychology major, Taylor Iarosis, (senior, human performance) and Thomas McGinley (sophomore, accounting).
• Wilson College announced that Yuliya Bondar has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2025 semester. The dean’s list contains the names of those students whose grade-point average for the work of the semester has been 3.5 or higher and who have completed at least 12 semester hours for the semester. ••
