The Mayfair Business Improvement District, under the leadership of executive director Donny Smith, recently unveiled the Celebration Statue at Frankford and Cottman avenues. John McBride emceed the ceremony, which included a blessing by the Rev. Patrick Welsh, pastor at St. Matthew Church. Sculptor Stephen Layne was on hand, along with state Sen. Joe Picozzi and state Rep. Jared Solomon. The event included vendors and an inflatable football toss. ••
