The Block Gives Back and Northeast Together teamed to present Block 2 School at Jack Costello Boxing Club, Torresdale and Longshore avenues.

The day featured a backpack giveaway filled with pencils, pencil cases, folder, crayons/color pencils, notebooks, gluesticks, erasers and rulers.

The event also included grilled hot dogs and hamburgers, pretzels, chips, water ice, face painting, cornhole, pop a shot, football toss, a DJ, video games, a moonbounce and vendors.

Among those in attendance were state Sen. Joe Picozzi, state Rep. Joe Hohenstein and district attorney candidate Pat Dugan. ••
