Pat Dugan, candidate for district attorney and former president judge of Municipal Court, is questioning DA Larry Krasner’s recent news conference tour, calling out the incumbent for boosting his re-election campaign instead of addressing shootings, violent crimes and murders. Dugan labeled it a propaganda, adding that he should hold a town hall focused on victims and their families who feel abandoned.
Krasner opposes a possible National Guard deployment in Philadelphia. Dugan said Krasner is trying to distract people from shootings, like the Sept. 16 shootout in Strawberry Mansion that killed an innocent woman, 27-year-old Jasmine Johnson, as she stood on her porch, and the Aug. 31 shooting in Frankford that injured a 17-year-old boy playing video games.
“This race is Dugan vs. Krasner, not Krasner vs. Trump,” Dugan said, “Larry Krasner is looking for cheap clicks, national attention and money instead of talking to Philadelphia about our neighborhoods and lack of safety. Why won’t Larry have a town hall with SEPTA riders and workers about the violent crime that he won’t prosecute? Why won’t Larry have a town hall with EMTs about violence directed at them and Krasner’s abandonment of those prosecutions? Why doesn’t Krasner have a town hall to listen to victims and victims’ families who feel abandoned by the DAO?” ••
