The office of State Treasurer Stacy Garrity will hold an unclaimed property event on Tuesday, Dec. 9, from noon to 3 p.m. at the office of state Sen. Joe Picozzi, 12361 Academy Road.
“Uncovering unclaimed property is like stumbling upon a hidden treasure,” Garrity said. “We’re excited to partner with local officials to simplify the process for residents to claim what is rightfully theirs. There’s no better time than the holidays to reclaim what’s yours.”
Treasury staff will help individuals search for unclaimed property, file claims and possibly walk away with money.
Treasury is working to return more than $5 billion in unclaimed property owed to more than one in 10 Pennsylvanians. The average claim is worth more than $1,000.
Since taking office, Garrity has returned more than $1 billion in unclaimed property to Pennsylvanians, businesses, nonprofits and local government agencies. To search for unclaimed property, visit patreasury.gov/unclaimed-property. ••
