Upcoming birding programs at Glen Foerd

Glen Foerd is inviting the public to connect with nature through a slate of upcoming birding programs for all ages and experience levels.

Winter Gulls with BirdPhilly will take place on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Great Backyard Bird Count is set for Friday, Feb. 13, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Glen Foerd’s environmental team and an intern from Holy Family University will host a local count as part of the Great Backyard Bird Count, a global community science initiative created by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. Participants will learn bird identification skills, observe local species and submit sightings that help scientists track bird populations and environmental changes worldwide.

A limited number of binoculars will be available, and participants are encouraged to bring their own if possible.

Birds & Boats: Guided Birdwatch Kayak Tour will be scheduled for the spring and fall.
