The event took place at Vie, a catering hall at 600 N. Broad St. It raised about $500,000 to support Komen Philadelphia’s life-saving programs in the local community, as well as breast cancer research.

The color pink represents the victories and the hope each supporter of the cause brings to millions of women through the work of Komen Philadelphia.

At the event, Komen recognized Cancer Treatment Centers of America with its Beacon of Hope award. Dr. Steven B. Standiford, CTCA’s national director of surgical oncology and preoperative services, received the Light of Life award. CTCA has supported Komen for more than five years. ••
