No Kings
Local opponents of President Donald Trump are planning non-violent No Kings Day events in the Northeast on March 28. The president’s foes claim he is escalating an authoritarian power grab. There will be vigils at Susquehanna and Verree roads (1-3 p.m.), 9800 Roosevelt Blvd. (noon to 2 p.m.), Northwood Park, 4701 Castor Ave. (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and Martins Mill Road and Tabor Avenue (2-3 p.m.). Curfew, underage drinking
Curfew in Philadelphia is 9:30 p.m. for anyone 13 and under and 10 p.m. for those ages 14-17. If police pick up someone for a curfew violation in the Northeast, the young person will be taken home, to the Community Evening Resource Center at 4704 Leiper St. in Frankford or to the 2nd, 7th, 8th or 15th police districts. The penalty for a curfew violation can be up to $300.
Under state law, underage drinking is a summary offense with a $500 fine for the first violation. Anyone receiving a citation for underage drinking can be asked about it on applications for jobs, college applications and appointments to military service academies. ••

Art club meeting at Lawncrest Library

Campaign for Working Families is looking for volunteers for the upcoming tax season to work at a pop-up tax preparation site at the PATH building (1919 Cottman Ave.). Tax preparation is free.
