Dawejko, better known as the Tacony Tank, a heavyweight boxer, and Brian Costello, president of the Jack Costello Boxing Club, remember when Philly had prizefights featuring some of the best boxers in the world. Think Blue Horizon bouts.
So instead of missing those days, they’re bringing them back.
The two have teamed up to start Blue Corner Promotions, where Dawejko serves as the president and Costello the CEO.
But that’s not the titles they’re concerned about.
The pair are aiming to hold the title of best boxing in Philadelphia, and they’re putting their best foot forward April 11 at the 2300 Arena.
Blue Corner Promotions is featuring an eight-bout card featuring some of the biggest stars around:
Jordy Tientcheu vs. Tyron Lee, Justin Litz vs. Sanjay Davis, Anthony Pagan vs. Ernest Davis, Otabek Melikov vs. Irvin Rodriguez, Soslan Alborov vs. Donta Swedenburg, Alejandro Herrera vs. David Garcia, Brendan O’Callaghan vs. John Brewer and the main event, Alex Martin vs. Juan Rivera.
