Police looking into motorists’ advances toward separate underage girls

Two male motorists made sexual advances toward underage girls in the Northeast last week in what Special Victims Unit detectives believe were unrelated incidents.

The latest episode occurred on Dec. 4 at 1:20 p.m. A 15-year-old girl told police that she was walking along the 8000 block of Craig St. when an unknown man in a parked green Jeep Liberty exposed his genitals to her. The girl fled. She described the offender as white and 50 to 60 years old. He wore a striped shirt. The vehicle had a New Jersey plate with a partial registration of “098.”

Two days earlier, a different 15-year-old girl was walking along the 1600 block of Bridge St. at about 1 p.m. when an unknown man drove up to her, offered her a ride and told her to enter his van. The victim fled and later described the offender as Indian or south Asian with an Indian accent. He is in his 30s and was clean shaven. He was driving a white van, possibly with ice cream decals on the side.
