NE woman dies in tragic fall

A Northeast woman fell eight stories from a waterfront condominium balcony to her death early on Friday in what Philadelphia police say was a “tragic accident.”

Ngoc Tran Vo, 30, lived in Oxford Circle and was visiting the home of a man on the 12th floor of the Residences at Dockside, a building of posh and pricey condos at 717 S. Columbus Blvd., overlooking the Delaware River. Sometime before 4:30 a.m., Vo fell from her companion’s balcony and landed on a fourth-floor patio. She died at the scene.

One police commander reportedly said that Vo dropped a mobile phone over the railing and was peering down when she lost her balance and fell. Police questioned the victim’s companion and searched the condo and two vehicles, but discovered no evidence of foul play, according to published reports. Multiple news agencies identified her as an exotic dancer who worked at a South Philly gentlemen’s club.

Police are awaiting autopsy and toxicology reports on the victim. ••
