Coyle resigns as Crusaders’ football coach

Tom Coyle has led the football program at Father Judge, his alma mater, since the 2000 season.

After 13 years as the head football coach at Father Judge High School, Tom Coyle has stepped down to take the same position at Penn Charter.

The move became official on Thursday afternoon, when Coyle met with his players at Father Judge to give them the news. He was later introduced as the new football coach at Penn Charter at 3:30 p.m.

“Tom Coyle resigned as the Judge football coach this afternoon to accept the head coach position at Penn Charter beginning next season,” Father Judge athletic director Ed Evanitsky said in an email to theNortheast Times. “We already have set up a search committee to begin looking for a qualified replacement for Tom. We don’t have any timetable for making a selection yet.”
