City Councilman Al Taubenberger last week led a tour of the Northeast with editors from the Chestnut Hill Local and Northeast Times.

Among the sites visited or passed by during the car ride were the Dining Car, Holy Family University, Glen Foerd on the Delaware, the Delaware River Yacht Club, the Union League Golf Club at Torresdale, Northeast Philadelphia Airport, Leonardo Helicopter, Pennypack Woods, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 5, Pepsi, Cannstatter’s, the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion, Lower Dublin Academy, Frankford and Cottman avenues, the newly opened Frankford Avenue bridge over Pennypack Creek and the former Nabisco property.

Taubenberger (R-at large), who lives in Fox Chase, plans to tour Chestnut Hill in the future.

The Chestnut Hill Local is owned and produced by the Chestnut Hill Community Association.

“It’s great when neighborhoods get together to speak to one another,” the councilman said. ••
