Search is on for two men who burst into Frankford store, beat up owner

Two men used their fists to beat a Frankford grocery store owner and rob his store last Wednesday evening. Detectives hope that daylight surveillance video will help their search for the suspects.

The crime occurred at 8 p.m. at the Torresdale Mart and Pizza, at 5234 Torresdale Ave. The two men entered the business wearing gloves and masks. One of the robbers assaulted a clerk while the other grabbed cash from the register, along with cigarettes and various other items, before running west on Brill Street, police said.
