Digital dog licenses are now available at ACCT

ACCT Philly’s new digital dog licenses will be linked to free online profiles.

The Animal Care and Control Team of Philadelphia recently launched Liberty Licenses, its identification tag for pets.

In partnership with PetHub.com, which works to get lost pets home, ACCT Philly’s new digital dog licenses will be linked to free online profiles that allow dog owners to list emergency contact information, including veterinarians, pet sitters, family and friends.

The PetHub software allows for optional upgrades that include “found pet” alerts, tag scan notifications with GPS mapping and a way to broadcast a missing pet’s profile to local shelters and businesses, similar to the Amber Alert system.

The Liberty Licenses will be provided to dog owners when they pay the city’s $16 annual registration fee. The technology will help the city increase its license compliance, which has been below 5 percent in the last few years.
