Tips lead police to drug busts on Frankford’s Griscom Street

Acting on tips, police have been making narcotics busts on the 4800 block of Griscom St., Police Lt. Robert Casselli said last week.

Police said three locations had been raided in the past few months, and money, drugs and guns were found, Casselli said last week during the monthly meeting of the 15th Police District’s Police Service Area 1 at Aria Health’s Frankford campus.

Tim Wisniewski, executive director of the Frankford Special Services District, said the area around Frankford Avenue and Foulkrod Street, which had been the subject of narcotics trafficking complaints, has been relatively quiet lately.

Assistant Managing Director Jim Sanders of the Philly Rising program told those in attendance about a recent walk through Frankford by representatives of city agencies.

Philly Rising puts city departments together to solve neighborhood problems. The walk around the neighborhood was a way of putting the reps of city agencies right on the street where they can see for themselves the problems that need to be addressed. ••
