Frankford High is ringing with success

The Frankford High School baseball team received their championship rings last week during a ceremony held at the Oxford Ave. school. The Pioneers claimed the Public League title after defeating Thomas Edison High School, 5–4, on June 2 at Richie Ashburn Field in South Philadelphia. The triumph was Frankford’s first Public League championship crown since 2008 and 16th in the program’s history.

The Pioneers finished 19–6 overall, outscoring opponents by 118 runs, including four shutouts. They rode an 11-game winning streak throughout the second half of the season en route to their Public League title.
