The grand marshals will be John J. Riehl (owner of Rings Pharmacy) and Evelyn Flaherty (president of Friends of Lawncrest Library).

Activities will take place at Lawncrest Recreation Center, at Rising Sun Avenue and Comly Street. They include a food court (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.), children’s rides (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), bingo (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.), car show (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), flea market (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and live entertainment (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.).

T-shirts will be for sale, and raffle drawings will take place at 4:30 p.m. There will be games and prizes all day.

A fireworks celebration at dusk will close the festivities.

The baby parade has been canceled due to a lack of participation.

The rain date is Saturday, July 9.

Donations can be sent to Lawncrest 4th of July Committee, P.O. Box 24656, Philadelphia, PA 19111, or dropped off at the Lawncrest Community Association meeting on Tuesday, June 21, at 7 p.m. at St. William parish hall, at Argyle and Robbins streets.

T-shirts are for sale at the Wawa at Rising Sun and Longshore avenues.
