Police think pharmacy bandit struck again

Philadelphia police have released surveillance video of the Jan. 25 armed robbery of a Holme Circle drug store and say that the same unknown bandit is responsible for at least three similar crimes elsewhere in the Northeast.

The latest heist occurred Jan. 25 at Circle Pharmacy, 2853 Holme Ave. A man wearing a brown hoodie, jeans, black gloves and a white cloth over his face entered the store at 6:54 p.m., pointed a black handgun at a clerk and demanded that the clerk fill a bag with money. The suspect supplied the bag and also handed the clerk a note demanding specific prescription medications.

The robber made off with undisclosed amounts of cash and pills. The employee described him to police as white or Hispanic.

The suspect used the same tactics in three earlier heists at QRX Pharmacy, 7063 Castor Ave., on Dec. 10; Holmesburg Pharmacy, 8039 Frankford Ave., on Dec. 22; and CVS Pharmacy, 7350 Oxford Ave., on Jan. 8. The Jan. 8 crime occurred just after 9 a.m., while the other three all occurred during the 5 to 7 p.m. timeframe.

Call Northeast Detectives to report information about the crimes at 216–686–3153. ••
