Corpse found in Poquessing Creek

Authorities remain stumped about circumstances surrounding the discovery of a dead person in the Poquessing Creek on Sunday afternoon.

A man who was feeding ducks in the woods near the 3500 block of Vinton Road found the unresponsive male face down in the creek at about 12:45 p.m. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene and took him to the medical examiner’s office, said Officer Jillian Russell, a Philadelphia police spokeswoman.
