A car struck and killed a 74-year-old woman as she attempted to walk across Frankford Avenue in Mayfair on Friday.
The victim was crossing west to east on the 7700 block of Frankford Ave. at about 10:10 a.m. when a northbound 2008 Dodge Avenger struck her in the left northbound lane. The 42-year-old female driver stopped at the scene.

The pedestrian suffered “massive head, chest and abdominal” injuries and was taken to Aria Health-Torresdale, where she was pronounced dead that morning.
Police have not released the identities of the victim or driver. The crash remains under investigation. ••
