Source: Friends of Poquessing WatershedUnited By Blue, the Friends of Poquessing Watershed, the Philadelphia Water Department Waterways Restoration Team, Bucks County Conservation District and Temple University Alumni Association sponsored a cleanup on Saturday near Philadelphia Mills mall.

There were 227 volunteers and two dogs. The trash removed weighed an estimated 27,000 pounds, including about 150 shopping carts dumped into the park.

Volunteers chose a toilet, followed by a creepy doll, as the weirdest item found.

Organizers thank a generous couple who found a $100 bill and donated it to the Friends of Poquessing Watershed.

Volunteers declared the day a success, saying the cleanup beautified the area and made it less likely a bird, fish or other critter gets sick or injured from the trash. ••
