Groundbreaking held for improvements to McArdle Rec

City officials last Friday broke ground on a renovation project at Frank McArdle Memorial Recreation Center, 2801 Welsh Road.

The project will restore and reconfigure 20,000 square feet of recreation space. The renovated space will include new tennis and basketball courts, play equipment and benches.

John Sabatina Jr.; Linda Colwell-Smith, vice president of Holme Circle Civic Association; City Councilman Bobby Henon; Patrick Morgan, deputy commissioner of the city Department of Parks and Recreation; Elsie Stevens, secretary of the Holme Circle Civic Association; and Mike Fagan, president of the Holme Circle Civic Association.

Funding will come from the city’s capital budget. ••
