For the vets

Gift of giving: Cole McCafferty, a seventh-grader at St. Mary Interparochial School, last week presented a check for $8,200 to the Veterans Multi-Service Center, 213–17 N. 4th St. The money was raised through GoFundMe, and is earmarked for homeless veterans. Cole presented the check to Stephen Ramsey, the service center’s president and board director, and Tim Williams, its executive director. In the memo line, he wrote, #Vets Lives Matter. In addition, $2,750 was given to a homeless veteran who was the impetus for Cole’s fundraiser.
