Victims can reclaim items stolen from cars

Philadelphia police have invited theft-from-auto victims to reclaim items stolen from their cars.

A notice released by the department’s Major Crimes Unit on Tuesday advises theft victims to call Officer Taylor or Officer Szatkowski at 215–685–9130 or 9137 to claim property stolen from their cars. Investigators have recovered a trove of valuables including high-end watches, golf clubs, tennis rackets and mobile phones. People who claim items must be prepared to identify the objects and prove ownership.

Police did not disclose how or where they recovered the stolen property, but the 8th district in the Far Northeast used its official Twitter account to inform its residents of the recovery opportunity. ••
