Two local students win mock trial team championship

The verdict is in: The Roman Catholic High School mock trial team defeated Germantown Friends, 6–1, to win its third consecutive city championship and fourth overall. SOURCE: ROMAN CATHOLIC

Fox Chase’s Joseph Doherty and Torresdale’s Christian Dellavella recently received rings for being part of the Roman Catholic High School mock trial team that won the city championship.

Speakers included U.S. District Court Judge Joel Slomsky and the Rev. Joseph Bongard, school president.

Doherty, Dellavella and their teammates were given their rings by alumni association president Thomas Johnston.

Roman defeated Germantown Friends, 6–1, to win its third consecutive city championship and fourth overall.

The team is coached by Philadelphia Assistant District Attorney Steve Patton and faculty member John Pensabene.

Doherty and Dellavella are both headed into their senior years. ••
