Officer recognized for quick response to domestic shooting

Officer Cathy Lint was honored as Officer of the Month in the 7th district during the Police District Advisory Council meeting on April 21.

Lint was the first responding officer to a domestic shooting on the 400 block of Jeanes St. on March 25. Upon her arrival at the home, she found a man bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound. She also encountered a woman who identified herself as the victim’s girlfriend. The woman admitted that she shot him.

Lint took the woman into secure custody and held the house as a crime scene until a search warrant was obtained. Police got the warrant and found a .40-caliber pistol in the house, along with several loaded magazines of ammunition. The victim was taken to Holy Redeemer Hospital for treatment.

In addition to helping to remove a lethal weapon from the community, Lint is the most active officer in her squad with car stops, pedestrian stops, traffic citations issued, parking tickets issued and arrests. ••
