Gunfire kills two men in Frankford

Gunfire and the illicit drug business claimed the lives of two 30-year-old men inside a house within about a block of SEPTA’s Frankford Transportation Center last Wednesday afternoon, Philadelphia police said.

Officers from the 15th district went to a rowhouse on the 1600 block of Pratt St. after someone reported gunshots at 2:16 p.m. The police saw several men fleeing the scene in multiple directions, then found both victims on the first floor of the house, unresponsive, each with multiple gunshot wounds. The officers took both men to Temple University Hospital, where the victims were pronounced dead.

Investigators believe that both victims were “active participants” in a drug transaction inside the house, which is a notorious “drug house,” police said.

Authorities have not released the names of the victims nor issued descriptions of a suspected shooter. ••
