At about 6:30 p.m., Vovchik was walking across Byberry Road near Proctor Road when an eastbound 2007 Honda Odyssey struck him. A 20-year-old man was driving the Honda, which veered into the westbound lane and struck a 2009 Chevy Impala driven by a 53-year-old man.

No injuries were reported to either motorist. The vehicles remained at the scene after the accident. Paramedics took Vovchik to Aria Health’s Torresdale campus where he was pronounced dead at 7:31 p.m. as a result of unspecified head injuries. ••
