Body identified as missing Bustleton man

Police have identified a man found dead Saturday afternoon in Somerton as 60-year-old Gerald Fomalont, who was reported missing Wednesday, Jan. 30.

Fomalont, who has cerebral palsy and suffers from diminished mental capacity, was reported missing by family members after he did not return home from work, police said. He was last seen at 6:30 a.m. Jan. 30 leaving his home on the 9900 block of Bustleton Avenue.

His body was discovered Saturday around 2:45 p.m. on the 11300 block of Northeast Avenue, according to police. Medical personnel pronounced him dead just after 3 p.m., authorities said.

Authorities did not release a cause of death.

Investigators from Northeast Detectives are actively investigating Fomalont’s death. ••
