Cops want man for questioning in shooting

Philadelphia police are searching for a man nicknamed “Smurf” in connection with the shooting of a man Friday night in Upper Holmesburg.

The gunfire erupted just after 8 p.m. on the 8100 block of Ditman St. Police who arrived at the scene found a 20-year-old man with wounds of the leg and stomach. He was taken to Aria Health-Torresdale in critical condition.

Police have not released the man’s identity because he survived the shooting. His current condition is not known.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. He is described as a Hispanic man of unknown age who wore a long-sleeve black shirt and is known as “Smurf.” Call Northeast Detectives at 215–686–3153 to report information about the case. ••
