The 8th Police District Advisory Council announced its new executive board during the group’s monthly meeting on Jan. 4.
Harry Sonntag will be the new chairman, with Theresa Grumbrecht the new vice chairwoman and Betsy Zach the new treasurer. All board terms are two years.
Sonntag and Zach are familiar names on the board. Sonntag was elected vice chairman two years ago before assuming the role of interim chairman when Rosemary Contino, the former chairwoman, resigned from the board. Similarly, Zach previously served as interim treasurer.
All three officers were the only nominees for their positions and were affirmed by a hand vote of PDAC members.
There were no nominees for the offices of recording and corresponding secretary, sergeant at arms and two trustees. Those offices will be filled by appointment by the newly elected board members, Sonntag said.
Sonntag presented framed photos and plaques to outgoing board members, thanking them for their service, including recording secretary Margaret Philippi, trustee Jack Tolchin, trustee Eric Clauson, sergeant at arms Bob Berryman and vice chairwoman Elsie Stevens. ••
