Police seek clues to Wissinoming woman’s death

Philadelphia police are investigating the suspicious death of a Wissinoming woman on Feb. 28.

Officers from the 15th district were called to an apartment on the 5900 block of Torresdale Ave. at about 3 p.m. Inside the residence, they found a 49-year-old woman with injuries of the face and head. She was taken to Aria Health-Torresdale and pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Police took the woman’s husband into custody for questioning but did not charge him criminally. He has been released from custody.

Homicide investigators await a report from the city medical examiner’s office on a cause of death, according to Officer Tanya Little, a police department spokeswoman. ••
