A burglar broke into Northeast High School in the middle of July, but didn’t seem to take anything or do any major damage, police said last week.
Police don’t believe the burglar, whom they described as white and 16 to 20 years old, took anything from the Cottman Avenue school.
“He did not access the computer system. There are many layers of security that can not be penetrated without passwords,” said Robert Caroselli, Northeast’s assistant principal,
The burglar broke a gymnasium roof window to get inside the building on July 17. A surveillance camera captured an image of the young man as he broke into a roster room window to get access to the main part of the school between 4 and 5:15 p.m. And then he left.
He is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and has a slim build, police said. He was wearing a black Nike shirt and dark pants. He was carrying a blue backpack with yellow should straps.
