Proceeds will go to breast cancer research at Fox Chase Cancer Center, prostate cancer research at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and the Veterans Comfort House in West Philadelphia.

The shop owner is a prostate cancer survivor. His late wife, Ginny, fought breast cancer.

The day will also include individual and family portraits for $15. Hats, T-shirts and food (catered and donated by John DiAntonio) will be for sale. There will be raffles for a basket of cheer and five hand-crafted Longaberger baskets.

Other activities will include a disc jockey, antique cars, a prize-winning 1965 Mustang race car, karate demonstrations and performances by a jump rope team and the Sounds of Liberty Barbershop Quartet.

Last year’s benefit raised almost $12,000.

To make a tax-deductible contribution, send a check payable to Cut for the Cure Inc. to New Image Hair Salon, 2522 Welsh Road, Philadelphia, PA 19152.
