Two suspects sought in home invasion

Philadelphia police arrested one man and are searching for at least two more in connection with a home invasion robbery in Frankford early on Friday.

Officers from the 15th district were called to the Checker’s restaurant at 5427 Oxford Ave. at 3:14 a.m. when the business activated its silent hold-up alarm, according to a police spokeswoman. A man in the restaurant told the officers that “a couple males with guns” had just robbed him at his home on the corner of Sanger and Large streets.

The victim led the officers to the corner and pointed out several men who were sitting inside a parked Chevy Trailblazer as the robbers. Suspects exited the vehicle from the front a rear passenger seats and ran eastbound toward the rear of 1100 Sanger St. A third man exited the vehicle and ran to the 5400 block of Rutland St., where police arrested him. He was identified as Stephen Wright, 22, of the 5800 block of N. 10th St., and charged with robbery and related offenses.

Police did not release descriptions of the other suspects.

According to WPVI-TV, the robbers stole computers, cash, cameras and guns from the house, while police recovered two guns near the scene. ••
