Violet Ripken has been safe at home since her overnight ordeal on July 24 and 25, 2012, but the Baltimore office of the FBI continues its hunt for the unidentified kidnapper, while expanding the search to neighboring states. The man abducted Violet Ripken, who was 75 at the time, at gunpoint from her garage in Aberdeen, Md., and transported her in her own car, a 1998 Lincoln, through Harford and Baltimore counties before returning her to her home the following morning.

During the episode, the abductor reportedly gagged the victim, used her credit card and visited a Wal-Mart before returning to her street and leaving her inside her parked car.

Investigators released a composite sketch of the thug and a video of him entering and exiting a retail store. He is described as white, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and 180 pounds with short brown hair and glasses. Call the FBI in Baltimore at 410–265–8080 to report information. ••
