Police are trying to identify a masked gunman who held up two Somerton businesses on Nov. 3.
The robber struck twice within about three hours. Shortly before 7 p.m., he walked into CVS at Bustleton Avenue and County Line Road, pointed a black handgun at a couple of clerks and demanded cash from the register. Surveillance video showed one clerk scrambling to open the register, another clerk standing by with arms raised and a patron nearby as the robber exited through the front door. He was last seen traveling westbound on County Line Road on foot.
At about 10 p.m., the same man robbed the Citgo at Byberry Road and Philmont Avenue in similar fashion. He was last seen running eastbound from the business toward Byberry Road.
The robber wore scarves to cover his face in both incidents, as well as hoods, baseball hats and gloves. He changed clothing from one robbery to the next. He was described as white, in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and with a thin to medium build.
